Subject:HH Robertson Metal Roof Q-Deck (1959 construction)
Does anyone have information, particularly diaphragm shear strengths, for HH Robertson metal Q-Deck? I have a roof that was built around 1959 and we have found several erection drawings, but not the entire set. The Q-Deck sections that are called out include the designation Section 5-75 with thicknesses of 14, 16, and 18 ga. The edge of one unit overlaps (lips) the edge of the neighboring unit - units being about 1'-0 wide and about 7 inches deep. This roof does not have any concrete fill. We have contacted HH Robertson but they were unable to locate any information.

Has anyone qualified similar steel deck from this era as a shear diaphragm in a seismic region? We believe that most of the thinner deck sections are clinched rather than spot welded or bolted along the longitudinal seams.

Thanks!
